if so, then it depends on the phone. For example all HTC devices you need a "non accepted" simcard in order to get the phone to prompt you to enter the unlock code.

Devices such as Nokia, it doesn't require a "non accepted" simcard to enter the code, as the instructions state you should be doing it with no simcard in the phone at all when entering the code.

Yeah, to unlock it. Thank you for the clarification. I guess when the time comes, the instructions that come with the code will be phone model- specific and will say whether to insert non-accepted sim or not? I'm also assuming it does not have to be an active sim?
