Best Plan for me? Current VZW customer, 3 phones (2 Android)...
Hi All,
I have seen so many helpful posts and was wondering if the community would help me figure out what I should do. I need to lower my overhead and am spending a lot with Verizon. The service is good in that I don't drop calls, but I am paying a lot for it. We do like the Verizon coverage and AT&T and Sprint don't do as well out here (New River/Anthem, AZ)
We have two HTC Droid Incredible's which will have $200 ETF and a regular phone not in contract, but I am willing to eat the ETF to save on monthly fees as it should pay for itself in 6 months I think. I use my phone a lot (1200 minutes outside free off-peak ds and VZW-VZW) but will get my house VOIP phone going soon to save minutes at the house, which is the majority of my calling. I use the internet on my phone for Gmail and browsing a good bit too, but I would limit it if I could somehow get the phone to cut off the non-wifi data usage at a certain level per day or per month. My wife is willing to not have data/internet on hers, but I guess I would then need to get her a "dumb" phone - she does not do a lot of calling, maybe 600 minutes per month. The third phone is just for my son so he doesn't use that many minutes.

For Verizon's network, Page Plus. The wife and son sound good on the Talk and Text plan, 1200 minutes, 2000 text messages, 100 mb data, $30 a month. If you could also move some of your minutes somewhere else (VoIP, etc...) than you could be good too.
Additionally, the phones should need nothing except to call *228 once you port your numbers to Page Plus since it is still Verizon's Network; no programming, no flashing, etc...
How is it that we give up houses, businesses and bank accounts when we want a divorce but can't part with a couple of hundred bucks to find cellphone bliss?
If your son doesn't talk much and mostly texts, like my daughter does, you might be able to get the power text plan for him for $11 a month on page Plus or the unlimited for $20.
