I am an Android newbie.
I downloaded the same app from developer's website (not from the Android market). I didn't realize a first that download was successful an repeated it several times. Then coworker pointed to me that I had to swipe on top status bar and then I saw these packages and installed one of them. However, several .APK files still stayed in the list
I then browsed my phone from my PC and found on one of the drives that are added when phones connects a folder call "download" and inside that folder were following files (app name is replaced by me):
Appname.apk
Appname-1.apk
Appname-2.apk
Appname-3.apk
Are these files safe to delete? Also, how can I tell if these are stored on SD card or on the device itself?
You can delete them.
Basically any .APK files are safe to delete. They are just package files that would install the App.
the "File Expert" App can do a very nice job of letting you go to the "download" folder to delete the .APK files you want to.
