switching from Rogers to the TELUS Mike network

I’m thinking about switching from Rogers to the TELUS Mike network.
My basic plan with Rogers:
$30 6 gb of data (can use with smartphone and tethering to laptop included)
$30 for 350 daytime minutes
$5 for 1000 Canadian LD min
Unlimited Rogers to Rogers
Unlimited evenings starting at 6pm and all weekend.
Total bill before tax $65
My friend tells me I’m nuts to give this up but I’m working in the plumbing trade and it would be nice to have the Mike DC and even though I get all that from rogers it still bugs me that they ask me to pay for Voicemail and caller id etc..

Am I crazy or will I be happy with my dissection switching to a Mike?

If you are in Ontario in Waterloo ... the signal is excellent in this area and you have good coverage in southern ontario !
Caller id and Voice mail are free on Mike

With your mike you can tether for free ! but ... is very very slow (like a 56kbps ... ) !!!! but if you pop your email ... and email is only text without image ! is not a real problem !

For phone the i1 is great ... great rf great voice quality ! and very good fonction ... email web ... all work great !

if you need phone you can drop ! get the i686 ... you can put in the water without any problem !

The i1 crashed on me like one million times in a row so I'm back with the 8350i, but the MiKE network is rock-solid, never had dropped calls, signal is great, and SMS works damn well, too. The MiKE network is a solid choice.

thanks for the info.. I called and this plan is only good if you have a min of two phones. $100 setup fee and you must sign for 3 years and pay full price on the phone... a little too rich for my blood.

Well my old plan is gone ,,,, see ya Rogers!!!! I'm now without a phone. I'm going to get a i686 ( I think) any one know of a good dealer in the Kitchener Waterloo (Ontario) area? I'm a good deal!

For sure you can have this plan ... you just need to talk to the right personn !

You can call the call centre and get this without the setup fee or full phone price.

i686 is a great choice for rugged needs. There is also the i576s which is a little smaller and a lot cheaper on a 3 year term.

But if you want a smartphone, the Blackberry 8350i is what I would personally go with.
