Unhappy SAMSUNG GT-S5520H NORI GPRS settings

    Hello,

I read the sticky but still I couldn't find a solution for my phone. I have the samsung Nori and the way to put the info is like this:

    Set name:
    Access name:
    Auth type: (normal-secure-none)
    User ID:
    Password:
    Protocol: (wap-http-other)
    Home URL:
    Gateway address: 000.000.000.000
    Secure connection: (off-on)
Linger Time (sec.): 300 (it's the default number)
    Advanced settings

I would really appreciate any help on the matter.

Hi, i have no idea how long this post has been up but i have the same problem and i kinda gave up on that nori phone...but im just wondering if you found out if you know those settings now?? I would love to use the nori phone again but without the internet, it really seems to waste my cap. My internet connection worked perfectly in HK- i was on 3 HK prepaid BUT in aus im also on 3...

    Lightbulb

I just got the Samsung Nori, and I am using Fido as my service provider (Canada).
After almost losing hope this is what I gathered:

You need to get your service provider information. I found mine within a Fido forum of a similar case, different phone but same information. And that was this:

"Welcome to the Fido Technical Community,

You will need to setup 2 Access Point Names (APN) on your device. One for browsing and on for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).

    This device appears to be an android;

    Please navigate to:

    Settings> Wireless & Networks>Mobile Network>access Point names

APN1 [this one will have the radio button beside it]
    Name: fido internet
    APN: internet.fido.ca
    Username: fido
    Password: fido
    APN Type: default
    (all other fields blank)

APN2 [this one will not have any radio button beside it]
    Name: fido mms
    APN: mms.fido.ca
    MMSC: http://mms.fido.ca
    MMS Proxy: 205.151.011.013
    APN Type: mms
    (all other fields blank)"

To get the MMS working for Samsung Nori with Fido Network:

    Settings >> Network >> Connections >> Options - Create

    Set name: CONNECTION 01

    Access name: MMS.FIDO.CA

    Auth type: NORMAL

    User ID: FIDO

    Password: FIDO

    Protocol: HTTP

    Home URL: http://mms.fido.ca

    PROXY ADDRESS: 205.151.011.013

    PORT: 80

    Linger Time (Sec.): 300

    SAVE

I'm pretty sure it's not case sensitive. if so, try all lowercase. I used caps to clarify input.

So yeah, after that I was able to receive mms.

    Good Luck,

NOTE** If you're using another provider, find out what the info is for yours. You can ask in the forums by listing the info mentioned above.

And here I was trying to figure out how to view and edit .xml files from a Samsung non-Windows nor Android phone. =p
