Motorola i1 to stay at Android 1.5

According to Motorola Mobility owners forum, the Motorola i1 in USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Chile, and Brazil will remain on Android v1.5. Sorry to be the bear of bad news, but no 2.1

Tracfone W175g is IMPOSSIBLE to flash. If you don't want to use it with Trac, it's WORTHLESS. Stop PM'ing me!

I am honestly still pissed off. Hell, even 1.6 was a damn solid improvement over 1.5. I picked the old CrackBerry back up... hell, maybe 5.0 isn't the latest version, but it's still better than being stuck on Android 1.5 when 2.3 is available in the US, I understand. I hear the i1 has been rooted, but what's the point? Any custom rom means losing DC, and I'm not even sure if it would work in the first place.

I read awhile back in the Motorola forums, someone asked if the i1 was going to get the upgrade to 1.6. The response was maybe but no higher than 1.6. The reason was that Motorola had to mod android 1.5 to get it to work with iden and dc so no upgrade.
