Straight talk t401g signal strength

I got my wife this phone refurbished when I just changed over to straight talk. My friend that have verizon that cone over have at least 3 bars at all times. My wifes phone has 0-2 bars. Why is this since ite works off of verizon towers? What should I do?

The 401G is a GSM phone and works off AT&T and T-Mobile towers, not Verizon towers.

your wifes phone does not work on verizon towers, it is a gsm phone it uses (AT&T/T-mobile)
you may not have good at&t/tmobile service. you might want to get a phone that uses verzion towers
(example - samsung R335C) C = works on verzion towers.
