Any way to delete stock apps?

I will never use apps that came with the phone like twitter, skype, vz nav, slacker, and a bunch others. I guess I am tired of seeing them listed in the running apps menu after I have gone in and killed them selectively. If not able to delete, can I default them to a shut off point? Too many useless programs.

You'll need to root your phone first.

There are a few ways you can go about doing this. One if renaming the files so they aren't active. The other way is to download an application like Titanium backup where you can uninstal them from there. This is what I do. JUST be aware that if you do something like update the s/w or whatever it will bring them back and you'll have to re uninstal them.

ALSO be careful what you uninstal. Sometimes it can cause some issues.

Can you tell me the name of a program you use? Is it a phone app or something you download to pc?

To remove apps: Go to the Menu soft key (four lines) > Settings > Applications > Manage applications. Let the list populate and find the app that you wish to uninstall. Then touch it and once inside, you'll see the big white UNINSTALL button. Then just follow the prompts and press OK twice. The application should be fully unistalled unless you get an errror message at the very end. Generally you'll be told that the app was unistalled successfully. That should do it... Hope that helps!

Doesn't work with the apps that came with the phone.

Do you want to actually remove them? Or just not see them.

If it is the latter, a 2nd party launcher program may work for you. Go Launcher, for one I know you can pick and choose which apps you see.
