If you didn't apply for the Lifeline program, you didn't really get a credit. It's a program for Assurance Wireless customers.

Assurance wireless gives you 250 minutes not a credit ... and like Churner states you must apply for the service.
Is it a new Virgin Mobile account? or maybe a new phone number to you.
No Contract means I have all the power.
They want me, but they can't have me...

I'm in Texas and I know two people who receive the $9.50 lifeline credit to their Virgin Mobile account every month. Neither applied for the service. (one wasn't even aware of it)

I'm thinking maybe in some states, or at least Texas, that if you're receiving certain benefits from the state, they put you into the system so to speak.

That credit was applied to our PayLo accounts this past month. It was then followed up by an e-mail/text message explaining that there had been an error during the current system update and had applied that credit by mistake. Instead of being asses about the mistake, they advised us to accept the credit and thanked us for being Virgin Mobile PayLo subscribers.

Why can't more companies treat subscribers like Sprint/VM ???
