If this Nexus 4G or whatever they're going to call it would be a reference/flagship like the Droid or Xoom, wouldn't that imply it would be on Verizon? It's fairly obvious Google and Verizon are in bed with each other, just as Verizon and LG used to be friends with benefits. If there were to be another non-Nexus device, it would be on Verizon. Sure, T-Mobile gets the other Nexus device, but the highest-end stuff still is on Verizon first. The Droid Bionic, regardless of its delays, is proof positive of that.
    WOW. Pudding...

    Google Nexus 4G detailed – 720p display, 4G LTE, Android 4.0

If that is really rolling out, I'd rather have that than the bionic. The bionic is looking worse and worse as the days pass...

Aside from the 720P display, the specs don't look that far off from the Bionic. Ice Cream Sandwich excepted, though maybe the Bionic will get an update for that.
4G, 1.2-1.5GHz CPU, "monster display", Android 2.3.4, etc. And I would rather have mine in July/August than wait to the end of November.

November is way too long to go, while August is marginal. Again why should Verizon get that a few months after the Bionic appears?

    Display - better.
    Camera(s) - better.
    Android version - better.
    Blur Status - better.
    Developer friendliness - better.

I've got a couple upgrades this year. Maybe use one on the Bionic until this mythical beast arrives, then sell the Bionic to a newb.

To get more customers and sell more hardware. What a silly question.

Not true. AT&T'S network should be up by years end and ATT will have 2 LTE phones on it. This was covered at CES.

I'd rather wait til november than be stuck with another helping of mototrash. I've had enough of locked bootloaders, garbage ui, and flawed hardware. Just saw pen tile in person...and it's terrible.

Unfortunately, I kind of agree about the Bionic. The more info that gets leaked about it the less excited I'm getting, although I will withold judgment until it's in someone's hand for a review. I was excited when I thought the Targa was just getting the Bionic name, but that doesn't seem to be quite the case.

Do we really know the Targa's specs for the device that will be released?

Yep and the lack of denial that it will be pentile and attempted defence of the pixel arrangement by those in the know about the device is disheartening. This is particularly true when HTC has a dual core qHD device headed to T-Mobile with true non-pentile qHD. This is just not what I expected from Moto after eagerly following the release of the OG Droid and then buying it on launch day to be the Motorola I would see 2 years later. Everything on the OG Droid was ahead of about any phone at the time and many aspects were competitive or better for awhile. Really the iPhone4 LCD was the first screen to give it a run on overall quality sharpness and all. Technically the latest Samsung OLED screens are the first to really shame it. They are sharp and have great looking color and contrast.

When I fist heard and saw first hand these qHD Moto LCDs were pentile I was pretty shocked. Was actually quite confused when the Atrix and such were being first reviewed and described as not seemingly much sharper than the 800x480 screens of previous phones. Then I read about them being pentile and almost immediately when OOOOHHH! Then realised Moto still has somewhat of a one hit wonder syndrome even after all the reoorg and hiring of Sanjay.

Could not have been said better myself. My reaction was exactly the same! Unfortunately, the samsung screens are not quite there yet. OLED still has lifetime issues with the blue sub-pixels, which forces the displays to be made with a slight blue tint and then the screens slowly get burn-in's overtime. Regardless, I still may end up buying the SGSII because I just CANT accept pentile and I cannot deny that the SA+ looks amazing (at least when it's new)!

I'm not liking the pentile LCD neither. Seems Motorola went the way of battery saving rather than a good quality screen. This alone is a deal breaker. webtop and the pentile LCD have ruined this phone.
