How to get a replacement e71 from StraightTalk?

My screen just stopped working on my e71 am I'm wanting to get a replacement from Straight Talk. But they are telling me that I need to send in my phone first and then they will send back the new one. This is their company "Policy" but there is no way that I want to be with out the phone for that long.

Does any one know of a contact person or the best way to get them to send the replacement phone first before I would send back the bad one?

They won't do it, I had to get my wifes replaced under warranty. I asked them if they needed the old sim back and they said no, and that it was now useless. So I stuck it in an old Blackjack II until the replacement showed up. The whole process took about a week.

The old SIM only becomes useless after they get around to de-activating it. Once they receive the old phone, its SIM may be deactivated as part of the in house return process.

Yea I'm not saying use the old sim forever in just saying until the new phone shows so he doesn't have to go without a phone, and the phone doesnt go back to ST it went to some phone warranty place in Indiana. Kinda like Asurion, and it still shows in my online acct. The new phone came in the exact same package just like the ones from Walmart

I followed your thinking. I was just speculation on when the old Sim may be de-activated. It would be really fortunate if they "forgot" to de-activate it and you could keep using it in another phone with ST service.

That was another question as well. If it came down to me having to send back my phone first could I keep the sim card when I send back the phone and use the sim card in another phone.

But I just got a call about an hour ago and they are sending out the replacement today and it should be here tomorrow.

    Easy solution:

    1. Remove SIM from E71
    2. Install in iPhone, Captivate or Inspire
    3. Enjoy nicer phone

    (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Did you get the HTC Inspire for a good deal?

I actually have taken the sim out and put it in my iPhone 3G and have been using it there. But since I did pay $200 for the e71 I at least wanted a replacement since it still was under warrenty. So if I continue to use the new sim card still in the iPhone 3G or leave it in the new e71, I will have the satisfaction of knowing I have a working e71.

I had a 3gs and noticed an ad on Craigslist that the guy wanted an iPhone 4 or whatever (literally what it said) so I sent him an email offering to trade 3gs and he said ok. Turns out he works at an ATT store and this was like his demo, it looks brand new and came with box and all. It's awesome and if I start missing iPhone I'll just go to the ipod.
