The key point here is LTE vs. non-LTE. You can move Verizon 4G SIMs between LTE devices all you want, just as you can move SIMs between GSM phones all you want. The "gotcha" is that if you move to a non-LTE Verizon plan (which does not use a SIM), then the SIM self-destructs.
If you are buying a used 4g LTE phone and don't yet have a 4g SIM card, how can you check if the phone is valid?
This has probably been answered but how about if a person buys a 4g LTE phone, say a Verizon Nexus 4G and they remove the sim from the Nexus and they sell the device? The device wont come out on verizons database as IN USE or lost or stolen right? Before the line had to be transferred to another phone then the device would be free right? Also how about if there is money owed on the account, and they simply pop out the sim and sell the phone, can people do that also? Before a phone could not be used if there was money owed on the account, now it seems that a phone can be sold even if the owner is behind lets say 4 months right? can someone answer my questions in plain writing im starting to confuse my self!!! lol Thanks
Ok so i have a Droid Bionic and having bought it to try out the 4g am realizing the Bionic sucks. It sucks at holding a steady data connection and sucks when switching between 3g and 4g areas. Also i bought the $30 unlimited hotspot feature which i hardly use but is now seemingly pretty useless with a connection that randomly drops out.
So my questions are...
1)Whats the current best Mifi to get? I see a new Jetpack is on the horizon?
2)Where is the best place to get one? Can i walk into Verizon and buy one without getting a plan?
3)So i can seriously drop the $30 unlimited hotspot feature and just use my grandfathered unlimited??? Will i get throttled? I can use a good 6 to 8GB in a month.

I don't know about 1. But for 2. you can always buy a mobile hotspot or USB modem from Verizon at full price without a contract. However, I've seen them for much better deals on Ebay for instance.
For 3. I have used extremely large amounts of data with my 4G phone by USB and free Wifi tethering thanks to rooting, into the triple digits. I have not heard a peep from Verizon so I think you will be ok.
