How is Boost in the Minneapolis MN area?

How is Boost in the Minneapolis area? I have one friend that is happy with it, but doesn't use data much, and another that left Boost because her text messages weren't going through. I'm not sure if she was on iDEN or not.

I don't really know anyone else using them around here, so any experiences would be helpful

I'm looking at moving from T-Mobile to Boost with an Android phone on the $50 unlimited with shrinkage, depending on what phones they come out with here in early April.

    Thanks!

Coverage is very good. I haven't had many dropped calls at all. I am on Boost CDMA and I know several others that are on Boost CDMA with no complaints.

What about data? Any outages like I'm seeing over in the Virgin forum? No problems with text or pic messages not going through? How long have you been with them? Have you used T-mobile or any other carrier that you can compare them to?

    Thanks for the help scubby11

What part of Minneapolis? Sprint has the worst coverage of the big 4 in the Twin Cities. It is a weak Sprint market. I've had poor coverage even in South Minneapolis. (Lake and Bloomington) Far thinner coverage than t-mobile. TC is a strong t-mobile (or should I say at&t?) market.

I live right by the Mall of America. Some of my friends in the south metro had Sprint 4 years ago and couldn't get a signal inside their house. I was hoping the signal had improved over the last couple of years... 10 years ago T-Mobile had dead spots too, but they've improved it greatly since then.

Yeah Sprint isn't big on improvements. I would just get a cheap Virgin phone and try it for coverage since the cheapest Virgin phone is like $10. I do know that they are still not nearly as good as T-Mobile. Forget about the the burbs. Sprint fails even harder if you ever make it out of the city.

$10? That's a great idea, I'll check that out. Thanks for the help

Any other experiences in the Twin Cites are appreciated!

    That's why Sprint has roaming.

I don't believe either Virgin or Boost have roaming.

I am satisfied with the coverage I get and barely get a dropped call. The only area I have low coverage is in my friends basement along with my other friend who has Sprint. Where I travel up north there are few spots where VZ has a tower but not Sprint. So I can't roam. It works great in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

Show me 1 major carrier that is flawless and doesnt roam her in America. Not a fanboy comment but just to show that in your point that all carriers fail in that respect.
