Sony XPERIA PLAY release thread

Mods, I have no idea where to put this becuase there is no dedicated Sony Ericsson board for Verizon.

Anyway, Anyone have any clue? Or how much it will be off contract?
And will it launch with stock Android? (I ask because the Verizon branded version HERE is stock gingerbread)

I wouldn't mind getting this phone as a "backup" phone if the off-contract price isn't too high.

I'm curious as well. Can someone PLEASE give an update on when this thing will be made available for Verizon? The relative silence in regards to a release date on this unit is FRUSTRATING. Especially considering it was supposed to be out April 14th, per previous leaked roadmaps. Any Verizon employess with any inside knowledge out there??

I used one very recently for a bit and actually liked it. Course I pretty much just played a racing game on it the whole time but at least that was cool.

my fiance got hers yesterday. the stupid front facing camera doesnt work for any application that supports video chat. it force closes everytime. might have to go back.

Right now I'm not sure any video chat software is working for Android phones with FFCs.Maybe Tango? The Xperia Play has the same processor as the DINC2 and Thunderbolt.
