I just got a message from simple mobile saying that my data will be suspended for the rest of the billing period. I called them and they said there are no caps but I used a lot of data in small amounts of time stressing their networks!? I told them I didn't do any streaming/tethering, I just need to work with huge email attachments. They said that they don't care. I asked them how to make sure that this doesn't happen and they said that they don't know.

T-Mobile could be tightening up on them. They would have to be sharing some sophisticated info for Simple to say you are downloading big files "once in a while" as opposed to just a usage total. If you've been doing this same thing for awhile then they are just getting more data or reports from T-Mobile and that doesn't sound good.

It was around 3gigs. That's my average use per month. The irony is that they keep insisting that there are no caps. It's like shouting at a deaf person. I did nothing unusual. I asked them how can I avoid this happening again and they had no answer. They say there are no caps and cut me off at 3GB. I just don't understand what's going on.
