Do my credits disappear if I change plans mid-agreement?

I'm currently on the $17.50 retention plan coupled with a 6gb data plan. I have a $7 caller id credit, $5 data credit and 100 free messages (sent). My total comes to $42.50 before HST.

I'm considering change the $17.50 retention portion of the plan to the new $35 unlimited local calling cityfido plan. I called 611 yesterday to inquire about this and the rep told me that if I make the change, I will lose all of my credits. Obviously this is not acceptable to me, but based on my previous experience with reps (who can be wrong about the information they provide at times), do you think I will be able to keep my credits while just changing the voice portion of my plan?

    Thanks.

    I see.

I read on this forum that a new fido policy prevents any credits being attached to the "unlimited" plans. If this is the case, then what the rep told me makes sense.
