Yes I was able to change the min and mdn. And Yes the prl sticks with the sim card, Without the sim card you get the annoying message in the lockscreen.

Which is a big problem, Metro Pcs won't accept that meid, Not even with Houdini, I tried various times, That is what stopped me from getting it connected to Metro. Also I heard that the thunderbolt does not have a real meid, Supposedly it has a virtual meid. The phone is very complicated trust me I spent a good 2 weeks trying, It seems to be currently impossible!
I think it may not be impossible. First of, as you may know others are already flashing this phone. Not just with talk and text. Full web and mms as well. I did not continue flashing this phone because some settings wont stick. As for the MEID that people are talking about here not being a real meid, well I can't argue with that. I don't quite know. What I do know is I saw the MEID On the thunder when I was trying to flash it. I did not see why it was worth it flashing. The MEID read off my phone like this A100001313fd <--- not real, but something like that. So I mean if we read thsi meid from the htc using CDMA ws 3.6 then it should be there right??? After all the cdmaWS reads the phone. Then the esn should exist there. Ok for programing the phone I have an idea for you people that want to program their htc thunderbolts... Try the automatic programming method that might work. It will automatically update prl, mdn, min so the phone should work after. Though then you still have to worry about the web issues... Hope this method works for you all.

Automatic programming your phone. I think that should program your htctb. You can call metropcs and tell them that you have a phone that needs to be programmed and you would like to have them set up and automatic programming. Simply just say it's a samsung instinct phone if they ask you. Of course they will ask for account name and password. Just tell them that you did a master reset to the phone and it's not working anymore. Tell them that you just need to have it programmed. Once they set up the automatic phone programming simply hang up after thanking them.

Then you dial *228 and you should hear "metropcs *******

then the system will tell you

"MM I see your phone is being updated right now, Just a moment while that goes through"

( you will hear the music like if you were put on hold. Then just wait until it's all done. )

" Ok, Your phone is updated and ready to use, good bye "

Your now done with programming phone. Your phone should now work with talk and text. Do remember that if this phone is not a houdini phone it will not work. The ESN must exist in their system for this to work.

Thanks so much for the reply...now the only thing that's missing is adding the esn to metro pcs database, since the meid in the back of the phone starts with 99, is it possible that with the new updated cdma workshop, when it reads the phone, it will show an esn starting with A00 or A100??

Yes I am sure you will find the meid in A1000xxxxx format. I tell you because I was working on that phone. I was about to activate it, but I stopped and just sold it instead.
