The web browsing experience is much more satisfying with the Pantech as compared to the Samsung. The Samsung is pretty smooth when working but exhibited too many stalls. It stalled on getting to vzam.net, rendering my ability to download the drivers for the Pantech useless. It stalled on other websites for the past hour. Thinking that it may be Verizon I switched to the Pantech but so far it has been consistent and fast.

I'll give it go for the Samsung at home tonight. If the stalls keep up then I guess I'll wait for the Novatel.
I've been using the Samsung 4G hotspot with a Verizon iPad 2 and also get the web page stalls. The 4G light is solid and the WiFi light will be blinking blue when the pages load, but half way through the light will stay solid blue and the page will stop loading.

I thought maybe it was a WiFi issues, so tried the different security encryption types, and changing between b, g, n. But I'm still seeing web pages only half load and stop for 15 seconds, then pick back up.

well just took the plunge my mini laptop had a upgrade so i decided to try this option. never took much thought into a mifi, but i got thinking my data card is 60$ a month and mini 60$ a month for total of 120$ for 10gb. so sad. i dropped the mini ordered the sammy 4g mifi looks to be only one available. and opted for 10gb plan with my corp discount im paying 63.$ a month. im just hoping this is the way to go. how is the larger battery, how does it get updates?

When I had the LC11 the extended battery wouldn't fully charge even after 16 hours so I couldn't gauge the battery life. As for updates I would assume OTA since there's no option to update firmware in the configuration section.

It is set up out of the box as a true hot spot. You can get to the admin screen to teak it using 192.168.1.1 and the device password. I recommend going in and changing the wifi from b/g to b/g/n.

There is a 90MB firmware update available for the device now on Samsung's website.

    Has anybody installed the update?
Is there a noticeable difference in the update?

I installed the update on the SCH-LC11 earlier today, it was pretty simple to do over USB connection. I used it for a while, but didn't notice any difference, the 192.168.1.1 settings still look the same. It still stalls occasionally when loading web pages.

I think someone resolved the stalling issue to a problem with the WEP encryption set up. They fixed it by changing it to WEP2 or TIK (can't remember, it's on the verizon website forum). A few people confirmed the fix.

Would anyone like to confirm here? Might bite the bullet and pick one of these up since the 4510L is MIA.

    Here's the post:

Says to change it from "WPA/Personal/PSK (TKIP)" to "WPA2/Personal/PSK (AES)"

I'll give that a try and see if it works.

I am still having the same problem as before, with web pages stalling while trying to load. The WiFi LED will just show a solid blue for 20-30 seconds, then start to flash while the web page finishes to load. This is also with the new firmware installed on the 4G HotSpot that Samsung posted on their support site.
The speeds are fast, about 12Mbps down using the speedtest.net app, but I wish that the web sites would fully load instead of freezing for 30 seconds half-way through.

I noticed some stalls as well but only with HTTPS:// websites. I never saw on stalls on regular HTTP:// websites.
Can you check if you the sites that are experiencing these issues are HTTPS or not?

Yes, I have the stalls on HTTP sites, as that is what I go to 99.9% of the time.
