Ported a line into VZW

Everything is working on the line I ported in from USCC for my son except texts from other carriers. It took about an hour from activation for the phone calls to start going to the vzw phone, but still no texts after 4 hours.

Sometimes it can take a few days for the texts to start working properly.

This is completely normal. It takes all of the routing databases a day to get updated. My guess is that they will be working by the morning.

... and, as some others have noted, this is normal. Within the past week, a friend of mine ported her number to VZW and went through something similar. Inbound calls switched over relatively quickly... but text messages didn't fully work until the next day.

My texts were kind of wonky for 2 days after I ported to VZW from Tmobile. Things quickly went back to normal though.

I added a 2nd line and switched from individual to family plan.

Texts from other carriers worked this morning.
