Toronto Rogers phones that are currently able to create wifi hotspots

So I was able to get a 6gb data through retentions if I upgrade and now want to use it wherever I go .. just wondering what good phones does Rogers have with which could I create a wifi hotspot where I could do more than one device browsing. Any suggestions?

Also, this really renders useless their huge efforts of making data share the next thing

Data share is not useless because with data share you devices do not need to be in the same spot.

Anyways a few more WiFi Hotspot capable phones are:

    Dell Streak
    iPhone 4
    Samsung Galaxy S Captivate
    Palm Pre 2
    ^recommended^

    Acer Liquid E
    Acer Liquid MT
    iPhone 3GS
    iPhone 3G
    ^Not recommended^

What's wrong with the Acer Liquid series? They are some of the most easily modifiable phones around.

Any rooted Android phone can run a WiFi hotspot app from the Market. I'm fairly certain just about any phone can easily be rooted.

Android 2.2 has Wifi hotspot available by default, no root required.

In addition to the phones mentioned above, I believe the N8 can do wifi hotspot as well.

Not quite right. They must have a kernel that supports wifi tether, and some devices like the original Magic/Dream had it disabled at the kernel level. There are devices that don't allow you to flash the kernel, even when rooted. But and large, teh Captivate and Acer liquid series are fine.

They seem to be the most commonly returned phones for customer dissatisfaction. Not being defective, people just not being happy with them.

Also the touch screen on the Metal is not half as responsive as every other phone on that list (most likely due to them trying to get fancy with the curved screen).

    6gb

Are you sure Retentions can still do that? I've been told that the code doesn't even exist in the system anymore. The plan was taken off my account by user error and they weren't able to put it back.

Does anyone know if there has been a policy change?

Only the IP4 has Personal Hotspot; the 3GS and 3G is not enabled, due to hardware limitations.

Jailbreaking & using MyWi is the only way for 3GS & 3G, but don't expect ultra fast results with data transfer.

Any Symbian phone can with the Joikuspot app. There's a free and paid version of the app.

When was it removed in error? You should be able to ask them to approach their back office team to have it added back on. Assuming that it's a rep that removed it in error, not you.
