I usually only have this happen when I have no siginal or it's going in and out. If I have a few bars it always works fine.

I've been noticing lately sometimes when I try to make an outbound voice call I will get a voiced error message in a male voice "We are unable to complete your call at this time. Please try again later" coming from what I believe to be Sprint. Whats strange is it happens most when calling my voice mail and with in network calls being a close second(have friend on postpaid iDen).
As far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be a specific tower either(can happen anywhere).
It's more of an annoyance then anything as a simple hang up and redial resolves it. So I'm not to worried about it. I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing them? Only reason I mention getting these messages here is in case it was some weird Boost/Sprint bug.

^ Speeds under perfect tower(average is 300-800k).

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)
Hrm I dont believe its signal related because it happens with -80db(full bars).
It might be a issue with sprint cause when I call a friend of mine thats on Sprint it won't go threw and hear myself and sometimes it will take 3 or 4 tries before call goes threw. Its Very annoying
Had this situation happen yesterday, I power cycled, and have not had a problem again, so far![]()
That has happened for many years with Sprint. It usually occurs (in my experience) at peak usage hours (7am-9am) and (4pm-6pm). It is rare, but it does happen. I have experienced that once in the last 6 months on one of my post paid lines and at least twice in the last six months on one of our prepaid lines that I am aware of.
CON-Tracts??? We don't need no stinking contracts!
Ok sounds like a Sprint thing then. Now that i think more about it it usually happens between the hours of 3-7pm or in peak hours like you mentioned.
Weird because I've never had any problems with Sprints voice service as its been pretty rock solid. In fact I don't think I've ever had a call drop on CDMA. This just started happening recently around beginning of march however I'm not a heavy voice user. All my problems have been with data speeds. For example drop off a perfect signal(full bars or hit -88db) then speeds suffer regardless of device. About the same as traveling .3 to a half mile from a tower even if it still within sight(land is all flat here). who knows maybe that's a limitation of EVDO though.
Overall I find voice coverage usually pretty decent although lately I went to an NBA game and was shocked to find out Sprint didn't offer a useable signal for voice(or data) in and around the building. Doesn't reflect well on a network when you don't have native coverage in an 18,000 seat arenaAlso ironic since they advertise there.
ah well. The good news is I havent had this error pop up since I posted this *knock on wood*
Mail pushing when making/receiving a call?
