Hi guys, I'm new here. Found this forum while researching keitais and since I'm in Canada getting my hands on one requires some work lol.
I originally wanted to buy it online from a HK seller, but I'm paranoid and I don't want to risk buying a keitai as my first "big purchase" online lol. Also I think I read somewhere that li-ion batteries can't be shipped in to Canada anymore? Is that true? Can't remember where I got that from..
So plan B: have my cousin buy it from Beijing and bring it over. Problem here is, he knows nothing about keitai's so I'm afraid he might get scammed
Can anyone recommend stores in either Beijing or Shanghai for buying keitai's? I see no one really cares about getting keitai's from China here lol, either that or I can't find threads on it.
I can't seem to find any online stores from China either, so I really am "in the dark" getting a keitai from China. At least with HK I can see the prices and what accessories/hypersim come with the phone, etc...
Comments and suggestions please.
Thanks!

I know of some physical locations in Shanghai to go to for keitais. I'm mostly in the dark about Beijing, though if you search for the one you want on Taobao and filter by location to Beijing, some of the sellers with good ratings have physical locations you can go to as well.
Also, depends on what you want. If it's a soft-unlocked model then if you want internet you have to tell them what internet settings to add (for the ones that you can- some you can't, like the docomo NECs).
Thanks for the replies, I'll get in touch with zerox. Of course more options are welcome =D
Your better off buying from me or from an online seller from HK, its safe than have your cousin scammed and paying way to much for it.
If you want something used or from Charp/ China Sharp go through me cause I will have better prices than the HK sellers

Oh also can someone please enlighten me about the shipping restrictions on li-ion batteries? As I've mentioned above, I only skimmed over something on it, don't know any details. But it really limits my options unless I can straighten out what works and what doesn't.
Maybe I'm overreacting but I'd prefer not to screw with customs >.< heard horror stories..
So for the following cases, would get I any trouble from customs?
1- Shipping keitai with li-ion from HK to Canada.
2- Shipping keitai with li-ion from China to Canada.
3- Shipping keitai with li-ion from HK to China.
And I tried searching but I just suck with google, so if you would be so kind..Thanks again!
you would not have problem shipping battery to and from hk, china and canada. Unless you are shipping recalled or defective batteries or shipping hundreds of thousands of batteries.
EVERYTHING'S GONE
i thought Canada customs had a problem with batteries?
China and HK are definitely OK. Just don't list them as 'bombs' or something like that.

So I'm not seeing things! loli thought Canada customs had a problem with batteries?
At least now I know for sure about HK and China, one less thing to worry about hehe..
But still, does anyone know what's going on with Canada customs?
I can't really say for certain that batteries and Canada don't mix; I think a member here got hers through the custom no problem.
Even if it was prohibited- aren't the checks random? So you have a chance of getting it thru either way ahaha.
EDIT: Batteries are prohibited.
