What is with the Mifi 2200 OTA version?

I think we missed something along the way here. The Mifi's we were selling had the software embedded for making a direction connection to the PC, then we started getting calls from people who could not accomplish that at home. Of course this was from the 70 year old and up crowd who want the $35/month plan on their desktop PCs. Anyway, we discover they were right, there was no VZAM software and then realize it is a new SKU - MIFI2200-OTA. What is up with this? So now we burn a CD for the kit with the entire software package and it seems to work. What are we missing here? Is this new sku better in some way like this? (We called tech and the answer we got was so jumbled as to be laughable.)

The OTA version is cool in the aspect of you can do the activation initially connected to wifi.

However, the OTA version could have been so much better had they left vzam on it so it could be activated both ways.

There's information about how to activate it in Infocenter. It was announced months ago.

Yep its simple now and basically wifi only. Turn it on and connect to wifi then go to the up address or internal webpage on the device and click activate. You're done. Like someone else said step but step instructions are on infocenter.

So @AT&T Snatcher are you saying you have Disc's that will let me connect my Mifi 2200 Directly to the PC as in kinda like Tethering? If so how much you want for just the Disc/Software?

I thought the OTA version was OTA only but it sounds like all they were doing was going to vzam.net and downloading VZ Access Manager. Originally the 2200 worked either wirelessly or tethered and was required to be tethered for original installation.
