I'm passing along my USCellular Motorola V710 to a new owner and can't figure out how to get my phone number off it. I did a Master Reset, which seemed to do nothing, and a Master Clear, which did remove the phone book entries. But I had to manually remove photos. I guess the only thing left is my personal number, which I've actually ported to another carrier.
Thanks for any ideas.
(I don't know why it says "my mom bought me this phone", but I can't find where to change that. Must be a default for new posters)
I'm not sure about USCC. I remember reading that they lock their phones so this may not work:
On older Alltel Motorolas, to get to the programming menu quickly enter:
74663#[menu][menu]
The [menu] key is the top center button. If you are successful the display will say NAM1 (and maybe NAM2). Select NAM1 and then delete your phone number and enter all zeros. Save and exit.

Just reflash the phone with a monster flash if you want to be sure that your now-decomissioned V710 is wiped for good.
(I don't know where you will be able to find the USC V710 flash, though...)
If you don't want to flash, just follow the instructions from the second post, but if the phone had a SPC code (which locks out NAM programming access on CDMA phones - most Verizon phones have 000000 as the SPC, but other carriers DO set a unique per-phone SPC), you can retrieve it with a well-known procedure - it involves using the good ol' V710 seem editor to read Seem 0055, Record 0001, Bytes 0006, where your SPC lives
