The camera is a let down for me, primarily as i tend to do a lot of close up pics. Hopefully the browser works really well...don't know yet though..
This is how blackberrys should look. Until then I can live with symbian any day.
At least Nokia beat RIM to market. That's gotta stand for something, even if it's a very small something.
Personally, I think that this is the only interesting S^3 device aside from the N8. I would have loved a phone like this as an upgrade to my former E71... If it had been delivered this time last year. My biggest beef with my E71 was the screen resolution and it took Nokia WAY too long to address it.
Actually Moto beat everyone to market with a touch and type device in the Droid Pro.
Agreed. I would have been much more interested in this a year or two ago. In fact I asked for this specific device as a follow up to the E71. There's a part of me that still loves this form factor but the other part shudders at the thought of using Symbian.
That won't be TOO long ... less than 4mths.
@Gorgenesh.
You're wrong. In a slate design it was Palm that beat everybody Long ago ... Treo 600. You should know thatMotorola Q9h didn't have TouchScreen, Droids are a different beast altogether - shame on you.
Nokia Good effort but nobody in business really would use this thing. Why? Because YOU don't use this by your corporate staff ... you don't get real work done in a mobile sense over long periods of time and thus you keep missing the beat. E72 was a GOOD design and if it was marketed well, priced well and your full corporate staff USED it ... then maybe "@Mail for Exchange" would've had the big overhaul it needed from code all the way up from UI to design implementation.
PS: Putting the headset Jack on the top is excellent ... RIM needs to learn this and FAST! Not everybody is Right Handed and even though the majority of the western world is they shouldn't be fumbling with a headphone plugged in with their left-hand fingers!!!
Sorry the BenQ P50 was even before that in 2004 after some research.
The phone looks stunning in black, I love it.
*Sigh* A year ago I would have been all over this and would be one of the first ones in line for the preorder.
Top to bottom this was my (2nd) perfect device last summer that I kept complaining for. (The first was a N900 successor with AT&T 3G)
Now I'm on the fence. I still LOVE my e72 because it's reliable and the battery is a beast. The e6 is supposed to have even a better battery than even the e72. (and finally a touch screen). However with that said, the e6 still has to be the right price tag for me to upgrade because of how late in the game this is getting launched.
$500 seems too steep IMO. I'll wait till some 3rd party comes around $300-$400ish before even thinking about it...
Why not? Seems like an interesting change to all the touch screen slate phones all around lately.
I am @guamguy on Twitter.
I wouldn't consider the Treo a touch and type. More like a "Poke with a stick and Type"I know the Q9h wasn't touch screen, but the Android Droid Pro is more akin to the path Nokia is taking with Symbian and BB with BBOS.
Well said on Nokia's internal use. Mail for Exchange needs some work and they need to support Google Apps in their Exchange solution. I was looking forward to the Google Apps transition here at work and when it finally arrived most of the decent email functionality for corp sync on my Nokia went away. I was stuck with an IMAP solution that was horrible. Overall, Mail for Exchange worked well enough for most of my needs with the E72, lack of RAM really killed that device.
Symbain Anna supports only 3 tabs at a time :
