AT&T Replacement hardware question

Hey all - just looking for some clarity!

So I received my Samsung Focus that I preselected and while it's a splendid device, all in all, I'm just not feeling it. So I've decided to swap out devices with the Blackberry Torch as I've always been a huge Blackberry user and I've heard good things about it. My question lies in something the CS rep said. She mentioned if I don't return the phone (the Focus), I'd get charged $150. So technically speaking then, I could eat that $150 and keep both phones then? Because that's actually a mighty fine option, but I just wanted to get some clarification on what happens if I don't return that phone.
