The SH004 is a Sharp by AU KDDI, meaning it CANNOT be used on other carriers as it uses a different frequency, and has no USIM card.
The 840P is a SoftBank phone by Panasonic. It could/should be unlockable. Do some research.

The one and only software unlock and usable au phone is W64S but no SMS.

Good luck finding someone to build a hypersim for the RUIM cards.

Good luck surviving without SMS
I know I can't, the hours I spent on SMS beats the time I spent on calls.
Their phones are nice though..
Anyone knows about softbank 840P? I'm not sure can it be used outside japan?
why just don't look around the forums? anything that softbank use is hypersim and software unlockable, not all models can be software unlocked to begin with and if you can't then use the standard hypersim to use it meaning you can use it outside Japan. problem solved.
