Kind of underwhelming. However 2.2 million iPhones in 2 months is pretty strong. So much for the lies that the launch was a failure. We really are reaching saturation in the U.S.

903k post paid retail net adds is underwhelming? That is good at anytime. Compare that to ATT's, what 93k post pay retail net adds and it looks phenomenal.

I think a lot of those adds can be attributed to the iPhone becoming available on Verizon. I think the trend will continue for couple more quarters and then we will reach a stalemate.

I see a problem. Last quarter they reported ~94million postpaid cellphone users (NOT connections like att tried to pull off). Now, after adding nearly ~1million this quarter, they report they only have ~88million subscribers. I am confused. What gives? Typo?

Verizon Wireless: America's fastest, largest and most reliable mobile broadband network.

Even BEFORE Verizon had the iphone, VZW was beating AT&T in postpaid net adds. You call that a stalemate?

Only 20% of the phone sales were to new customers so less than half the net adds. More than 4x AT&T added total though.

    88 million RETAIL subscribers --- i.e. Verizon's own customers.

There are another 6-7 million MVNO subscribers (Tracfone) that uses Verizon's network.

Add the two together and you get 94-95 million voice customers.

I think all the carriers use their own formula variation of corporate "fuzzy" math.

Agreed. And it is only getting fuzzier with these M2M, ebooks, resellers, retail, netbooks, etc. I want to know total connections and total voice as that seems like it would give a better indication of how many actual users the networks have.

Nothing fuzzy --- 88 million RETAIL subscribers + 6-7 million WHOLESALE (MVNO) subscribers + 10 million "other connections" = 104 million total.
