Yes Shaw will be using AWS frequencies, but they are going with LTE technology that's incompatible with TMobile and Wind/Mobilicty handsets. So no iPhone (yet).

Shaw will be using AWS, so ~1700 MHz upload, and ~2100 MHz download.
Both are required for any level of connectivity, so the current iPhones won't work.

T-Mobile USA uses AWS, as well. An unlocked T-Mobile phone should work on Shaw's network.

We (I work there) will be releasing both the same kind of 3G that T-Mobile has, as well as LTE.
When is this dog going to bark? I thought they packaged off their drunken CEO and the buddhist brother was going to bring a little zen into the place. Now they own a TV network and they're introducing a half baked netflix type service although way more expensive. It would appear they've lost their way. Why don't they just resell Rogers and give it a rest?
