It might be something different for prepaid phones as the current PRL versions for postpaid phones appear to be in the 52xxx range.

As far as I know, the PRL provided to TracFone is in a different PRL series.

It's funny though, I have two of the phones here, one of them received the new PRL, the other one has not - despite several calls to *22891 and *228 Option 2 (either will update just the PRL), so I don't know what is going on with the second phone...

My Palm Pre Plus on Page Plus has a PRL in the 52xxx series, for what it's worth.

They may have rescinded the PRL's earlier this week, for whatever reason, but both of the phones received PRL 59236 this afternoon, so perhaps Verizon has indeed released new PRL's.

    Thumbs up

Yeah I think the New PRL update is official now......I just did a PRL Update on my phone and it updated from 52257 to now 52297. So I think it's a national release now!

Validating from N.E. Market - metro N.Y. area, PRL for the Droid Eris changed from 52257 to 52297 (ditto, same for DW's Env3)

Oh, well - didn't do anything inside our house - still showing -104 dbM signal ....

Just updated to 52297 from 52257 glad to have the new update, not sure if it helped roaming any but for the last few mins my phone has showed 4bars of signal and only dropped to 3 for a second or 2, speeds for download and upload on 3g are what they normally are this time of night, but maybe it somehow helped my phone, normally I have good signal in my dorm, but it will run from `1-4 bars are random almost so if this somehow fixes that I'd be impressed.

In Florida, my LG Clout has updated the PRL from 52257 to 52297, but the Thunderbolt is still listed at 15008, and Droid Charge at 15011 (which is what was on it earlier this week).

Updated my DX today from 52280 to 52299. I will pull it and post it as soon as I fix my laptop...probably Monday if nobody beats me to it.

In northern Michigan, updated from 52257 to 52297. Haven't noticed any difference yet.
Your results may vary. Network performance differs per user location.

Coincidence. The PRL *only* affects two things:

    1) Lists in order what networks (SIDs more specifically) the phone looks for (with a list of bands or sometimes individual channels for the phone to scan for each SID).

    2) EVDO info -- before Verizon had EVDO virtually network-wide, you could have an out-of-date PRL with no EVDO channel list for your network, your phone would not look for EVDO even if VZW had it. (They didn't add EVDO to the PRL for areas that were like a year away from getting EVDO because it increased battery drain unnecessarily.)

That's it. It won't affect service in any other way (including, it does not inform the phone about new cell sites, doesn't inform the phone about new EVDO buildouts, as long as there was *any* EVDO network-wide.) The one exception was VZW-Alltel merger, since there were *2* overlapping networks in some areas these regular and hybrid PRLs were used to have people's phones prefer Alltel over Verizon (and a hybrid for an Alltel user prefered Verizon over Alltel), since until they were combined one could be better than the other. Also, sometimes power cycling the phone will help something or other, and a lot of people (me included) do not reboot their phones except for a PRL update. (Well, now I reboot it plenty since I crash my D2G more than I'd care to admit.)
