Hey Guys & Gals,
Just wondering we have any release dates yet for Gingerbread for Droid X?
Are there any Official Releases of the Software from the select few who have already recieveed it?
I called VZW they said that they dont know anything about it?
Im so ready for the official release
No official release, lots of unofficial ones that people got their hands on, plenty of people claiming they got them OTA from verizon, but none of them are official or widely available for droid x users via verizon. One person claimed may 10th but just a random date with no real value or base. Just be patient.
The last one that leaked a few tweaks ago is by far the stablest one I've see. The new one from yesterday I haven't tried but that might be the official one they sent out.

My motto as a VERIZON agent- Treat the customer the way you want to be treated, if you treat them like crap dont complain when they treat you like crap. If I lose a sale I dont lose sleep over it I move on. Some people never buy from my store oh well $10 transfer fee. Some people are mad at the world, doesnt affect me.
I'm running the 4.5.591 leak. It's very stable and quick. I have grown impatient waiting on manufactures and carriers for updates.

So hopefully since .596 > .591 then (performance of .596) > (performance of .591)....
I'm running .595 right now and it's blazing fast. Much faster than the .573 build I was on before.
I was running .588 a few weeks ago, and it ran great other than a couple quirks. I sbf'd back to 2.3.340 and am now (im)patiently waiting for the official OTA Gingerbread release. If it's as fast as .588 was, I'll be giddy as a school girl.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but I did the SBF back to .340 and when it is done the phone boot-loops over and over. I tried the SBF three times, and it always boot loops at the end. So I then re-installed the .588 update.zip file, and it worked just fine. After that, I once again tried to SBF back to .340 and again got the boot loop.
So now I'm not sure what to do.
I did download the .595 stock file and renamed it to update.zip but when the phone tries to load it, it gives an error message and stops.
I remember having bootloop issues too, but dont remember how i fixed it. Im sure i just followed some guide on XDA. Good luck!
Off-topic time: does bootloop remind anyone of a popular fruity cereal?
I couldn't get anything to work and for it to get past the boot loop, so I ended up doing a factory reset. That solved the issue. but had to reinstall all the apps again.
That may have been what I did too actually. I knew I did a factory reset somewhere in the process of going from .588 back to 2.3.340. Any idea if our phones will get reset by upgrading via the OTA update?
The .596 OTA will not require any type of factory reset. All apps and settings will remain intact.
Who is getting Droid X on release day?
