    Verizon Iphone demo phone problems

we just got our iphone displays set up. None of the 3rd party apps work. only the apple apps do. if we do a restore via itunes it will wipe the fancy new demo programs off it. any ideas?

Same thing here. I thought it was because ours aren't 100% activated yet. We did the iTunes activation and that let us in to the device but we haven't been able to *228 the phones yet because the demo lines aren't active yet. I'm not sure if it's something to do with that or if that's just how the demos work. I was wondering as well why nothing worked on them.

I was just coming to ask the opposite question.

Our iPhones run in a demo loop and then when you go to use them they have a bunch of apps loaded in but none of them work. I like to demo loop and always-on screen. Apparently, though... in our other store the employee who set up the display activated the itunes and put an account into it. This made the phones function like normal, you can download apps but the demo loop doesn't run and of course the screens time out like normal.

Is there a way to wipe these things out and make them like our other store where they just run a constant loop video showing off apps and facetime and such? I tried restoring them with itunes and I tried erasing all the settings through the menus.

Yeah, the demo lines aren't meant for new apps to be downloaded. If you look on the back of the box they came in, it looks just like any other iPhone box except for the tiny print "For demo use only"

I'm not sure. I tried to make the thing download apparel and couldn't. I created a store iTunes account and put no billing information and still couldn't even get free apps. I tried adding PayPal and even a credit card to test and the prepossessing 3rd party appear still wouldn't run now was there an option to download apps. I just deleted the account and gave up. I guess they aren't meant to be.

I did notice in iTunes when I updated their software that all the tabs like music and apparel are set not to sync by default. If you try to turn on the sync option for apparel it tells you it will erase the apps already on the device. This must be what the person in your store did. I dunno though because while researching the demo units I saw where people accidentally have been sold demo units and no matter what they did even restoring from other iPhones they couldn't make them function normal. I wish we got some information on how the things are supposed to work.

I had to get 8 demos.

    6 Came loaded correctly.

1 Of the 6 would "crash" the second any apps were accessed outside of the stock stuff like ipod, contacts, etc, the fix for this is to restore the iphone. Doing this, blanks all the demo stuff out.

2 came without anything on them at all.

2 1/2 hours on the phone with Apple, and noone within the company knew what I was talking about.

I stopped caring at that point. I have records to document my attempts to fix the problem with no resoultion that I could reach and left it all on Apple's head if they find out thier display isn't "compliant" anymore.

Granted, I wish the Android phones had this sort of ability. Its nice to have a live demo with some music and contacts and such in them, so you get a better idea of how it looks in the real world, without having to setup each phone one at a time...
Hi there. I'm the guy on the other side of the counter. If you're a jerk to me, guess how hard I'm going to try to help you?
