Number port to another provider in first 30 days?

So we just ported our phones the other day, and our coverage has definitely suffered. My fiancee and I were looking at switching carriers anyway.

But i have some questions. since its within the 30 days of my transition, can I just go to another network (Sprint/verizon) and sign up with them and go through the normal number port without an ETF? From my understanding I would then just have to send the Aria's back to AT&T? can I just drop them off at a Corp store?

Or how do i decline to continue my contract with AT&T within the 30 days? do I go in to the corp store and say I want to be done? Do i get to keep my phone number?

    OK,

For everyone else that needs to switch due to not having middle of no where coverage, here's how they advised it to happen.

Figure out where you're jumping ship to, and have your plan in place for that.

Drop your phone(s) off at the AT&T store before you switch. go over to the other place you're going to, and sign up and port your number.

    No ETF or anything else.
