Phone screen died .. best way to backup? Any way to read incoming texts?
Hi all,
Today my phone screen died (all black) on its own. I can still receive calls but cannot see anything on the screen. I can hear that I've been receiving texts messages and I was wondering if there's any way to read these messages? Can I hook it up to my computer or something? Also, Tmobile is sending me my warranty replacement and I wanted to ask what the best way to back up my phone is? Is it possible to upload everything (all my apps, pictures, saved data within apps) on to my computer then transfer it to my new G2? Thanks so much in advanced!
Have you checked to see if it's the ribbon cable and not the screen? I was able to do that last week when a screen went black- opened the slider to its widest point then used a pencil eraser to gently nudge the cable. The screen went on for long enough to back up what I could before taking the phone to have the cable replaced.
hey(:
What I believe you should do is try to take it to your nearest Tmobile store.. You might be able to see what they'll do. I'm not on Tmobile, I'm on the Sprint network, but I took my mobile to the Sprint store, and they transferred everything. See what you can do to try and get your screen on long enough to read the texts. I imagine your storage can be transferred over by a repair shop or better yet, Tmobile. Really hope I helped(:
