Does anyone know how to hide the menu at the bottom of the screen [phone icon, contact icon, message icon, and the dice icon]? It's kind of intrusive on my screen and wipes out a bunch of my wallpaper. It'd be nice if you could hide it like the top menu.
The menu is what you use to operate the phone.
Howard's forum,
I just got an LG800G phone and I will probably
send it back if I can't turn off Auto Lock.
I just got this phone to replace my land line
and will never carry it or use it as a cell
phone so I want to always be in speaker mode.
Is there a setting to always be in speaker mode?
Why does auto lock still come on in speaker mode?
It is very difficult to read your voicemail with
auto-lock always being turned on. I press the "1"
key to access voicemail and it comes up in the "auto
lock" mode. I press auto lock to turn the speaker on
and auto lock immediatly comes back on. Now I have
to press auto lock again to be able to get the Dialpad
to enter the voice mail password.
Maybe I got the wrong phone.
Thanks for any replys.

It would be perfectly reasonable to return this phone. The Auto Lock is a hateful feature that was probably dreamed up by someone clueless. Tracfone executives should be forced to use the phones that they sell, in order to give them a taste of their own medicine. The only Auto Lock remedy is to keep pressing the power button momentarily, which is another way to release the lock. But who wants to deal with this? The Auto Lock cannot be fixed. I think it's a big boo-boo.
Lisme,
Thanks for the reply,
Unfortunatly I loaded my 400 airtime minutes into the phone before
I realized how bad the auto lock feature was. If I return it is there
a way I can get them transfered to a new phone?

Press Auto-Lock under Phone and select Never for Auto Lock.
See it here: http://tracfone.deviceanywhere.com/s...18&cid=3035831
twl845,
Thanks for the reply.
I do have auto lock set to never. Doesn't make any difference?

The Auto Lock is poorly-designed and there is nothing to be done about it. I have this phone and it is a problem. The so-called settings are useless. I would get another phone and transfer the minutes over. It is routine to transfer minutes.
Call the highest Customer Service at 305-715-6500 on a weekday and explain the situation and they will help you. If a receptionist answers the phone, you have gotten the right place. If you get a recording, you might have gotten outsourced. Hang up and try again until you get through. Sometimes the calls get forwarded.
lisme,
Returned the lg800g and got an lg221c. It took 3 calls
and about 4 hours to get the airtime and number switched
over. Luckily I got all my TMFL on this DMFL phone.
I used your advice and called 305-715-6500 which got me
to a service tech that spoke english and understood what
I wanted to do. Haven't found any problems with the
221 yet.
Thanks,
jerryd
I have determined that after having and using the LG800G for quite some time that it is one HUGE piece of CRAP. Just my 2 cents.
You have to accept the LG800G for what it is. An entry level smart phone. If you want to download loads of apps to play with and you really wanted an iPhone or Android but bought this, then it was a mistake. I however, have simple needs and find the phone adequate, and find that it works fine.
I absolutely agree with this. I have simple needs as well, and this phone is almost perfect. I just wish it accepted pictures bigger than 300 or 350 kb. That is really the only annoying thing with this phone in my opinion. I wouldn't mind an iPhone, but I don't need the bill that goes along with it.
Started with Motorola brick ten years ago and it worked easily and everywhere. Now the LG800g has convinced me to move up from a POS semi-smartphone to the iPhone. Just too kludgey. Try to sign in on the browser and there are no sign-in windows. SLOW. Way to touchy contact selection slider. Too many texts lost in mid-texting. Now, can anyone let me know how to sell a phone only a couple of months old and with 3000 minutes on it>
Thanks and good LUCK!
