ST Dog is correct. What I meant with the card "simply popping out" is that you have to remove the battery to get to the card.

As for the SDSC, you will note that I referred to the interface, not the card. If you can get the LG800 to read a 8GB or higher card, let me know. I want to see it. I've tried it, a buddy of mine has tried it, and neither of us have succeeded.

But, now that I look at the SD card web page, it says SDHC goes up to 2GB and 4GB starts with SDHC.

The maximum capability of the LG 800 is 4GB and that is all the phone can read.

Sometimes people report that they can use an 8GB card. But if you ask more questions it turns out that the phone might be reading the lower 4GB and ignoring the upper 4GB and they just aren't aware of it..

What is the largest you can use? A 2GB?
Yes. anything above 2GB is an SDHC card, which uses a format that the lg800g cannot understand

I believe the LG 800 takes a max 4GB card. That is what I have in mine.

A 4GB is max. Have not found any software to fix it for a 8GB.

I use a cable sometimes too. 4GB works for me, 32GB definitely does not. LOL

The card will enable you to transfer the video to a computer and email from there, where the size limit is probably more generous. The computer sees the card as a flash drive. The computer cannot see the phone's internal memory, so you can arrange for the video to be located on the card. Then you can use a regular email program instead of the limited MMS of a cellphone. You will need either a data/charging cable (a plain charging cable looks similar but won't do data) or a Bluetooth setup or a card adapter.

The LG800G specs state up 8GB cards.

Does it not like the card or what could be the problem?
the specs that said it can take up to an 8gb micro sd card were the specs for the non tracfone version. i looked up the specs for the tracfone "version" of this phone and it said it only accepts microsd cards up to 4 gb.

Radio Shack tends to have good deals on 4GB cards.

As for Wal-Mart or any other local store, it is always a good idea to investigate first to get an idea of the cost of something. WalMart.com lists several 4GB cards for <$10 (including a SanDisk card form under $5) with free site-to-store shipping. The price in the store varies.

    Thumbs up LG800g

The largest you can use is 4GB and the phone will recognise it no problem.
Since it is app capable, you can also download JAVA programs for it. Only
JAVA though. My "user's manual" is clear on the 4GB though, so ya'll need
to read the stuff they send with the phone!
