I got one. Bought it at RadioShack for 179.99 and stuck my Straight Talk sim in it. It is an Optimus phone and the features are similar. It's a good all around Android phone for most users.

Has anyone gotten the LG Thrive yet? I been thinking of getting it. But I don't want to buy it if it is not going to be that great.

It was a sim from the Nokia 6790. What you have to do is download apn manager from the market. In apn mgr you can delete the media net apn. You need to delete it because the phone reverts back to the media net apn even if you select the one you put in for straight talk. So deleting the built In apn is the easiest way to stop it. Then you can create a new apn with the straight talk apn. Those settings can be found in the straight talk forum. It works like a charm I must say!

Have you found a way to get it to wifi tether (in Case you needed an emergency wifi hotspot)
trying to come up with better signature.......
No not yet. I've not messed with it. I will probably have to root it first and my computer is messed up so I've not messed with it yet.

I love my Thrive, bought it the first week it was out. The only thing I do not like about it is the inability to use 3rd party apps as they are blocked by AT&T.
i also purchased from amazon.
so far so good. definitely not a high end android phone. no support for flash and it does appear at&t throttles your speed.
but works well for what it is.
Got one from At&t and want to use it with other carriers.
Which, exactly? The only other GSM provider is T-Mobile ... and they use different frequencies. And at&t already owns them.

I would like to use it overseas on a different GSM provider.
Thanks.
andriod market works fine. cannot get apps from third party like the amazon app store.
but there may be a way around it. i haven't tried it, though.

Is flash the only big draw back to this phone? I am looking to get rid of my HTC tilt 2 because I do not like windows 6.5. That is why I am looking toward the LG Thrive.
