How do you turn off 3g on lg octane?

I looked all over google for it, they don't have the usually way to do it from the secret menu either.

Network select isn't in field tests, it only goes up to 6 things not 16. I can't find network select in any other menu either.

It just worked on mine. Perhaps you need latest software version- 05

Perhaps it'd be best if you asked for further help in that link I posted up above. In that thread, the other day GeneB posted that those instructions let him turn off 3g.

I don't have the Octane, but I wanted to post that information in case you didn't come across that information in the other thread.

neo - google lg phone hacks - watch the youtube video and you will see that it works. Apart from anyone physically doing it for you, no one can help you. Follow the instructions to a "T" and you should get it without a problem. It has worked on a dozen phones that i am aware of at this point...it is all on you now...

I've done this before to 2 env2s and also a vx8000. Its not like I haven't done this before but there is no network select in my hidden menu.

Is it common to have a defective phone were the only defect is the network select is missing? How should I ask for a new phone from best buy if this is the only defect?

like the op states only got 6 options in field test, no net select option. I too would like to disable EVDO, as this is only my stand by phone therefore battery life is much more important...

try from inside keyboard ##program530 send this brings up all settings but does anyone know what they need to be for data to work with pageplus? please post thank you

still can't turn it off. possibly the new update disabled the capability. even though I would still like to.
if I use "##5473784236368 - send" the phone just dials
if I use "##7764726530 - send" I do gain access to a service menu, like those I accessed to turn off the EVDO on older models. But still no joy on this model as stated by other posters above access to other menus are not there. would still love to be able to turn it off....
