So it looks like the 1.13.605.7 is now available.
Before installing it, I placed my Thunderbolt back to the EVDO/LTE Auto Mode.
It took about 10 minutes to download and install.
The document on Verizon says it will fix the GPS lag time and network connection issues.

I tested it with Google Maps, and the GPS now took only 6 seconds to get a lock, before it would take up to 45 seconds.
So far the phone has stayed on 4G, and I haven't seen it cycle through 3G and 1x, but will keep my eye on it.

I just updated.....

After a while of the phone in the "LTE mode" setting, I changed it back to the default "CDMA LTE EVDO AUTO" mode, and again several minutes later, it dropped back to 3G.
Then just to see what would happen, I turned the phone off, did a battery pull for a minute and turned it back on. That was a few hours ago, and it's still in 4G and hasn't once changed to 3G. I'm not sure why it needed a battery pull after the update, but it seems much better now. Hopefully this will resolve the 4G/3G/1X cycling issue.
Updating now. No problems with 4G dorpping, and for GPS I am using different app for my locker, which takes about 3 seconds to lock on, usually. But still worth the time to update.
Downloading now hopefully works good

I installed it yesterday when I saw the news break, around 2pm EST or so. Since that time I have not done a reboot or battery pull. My phone has so far been successfully switching between 3G/4G when necessary, I believe.
I want to add that before the update, my phone was losing 4G in known good 4G areas all of the time, sometimes multiple times in the same day. I also suffered issues dropping my data connection altogether. Both issues required minimally for me to cycle mobile data and/or airplane mode...but sometimes a power cycle, battery pull, and even SIM pull...
In reading some of FAU's older posts leading up to this one, I'm starting to wonder if I should be seeing 3G at all?? I live near Baltimore and work near DC...and if you look on a 4G coverage map, I'm in the red at all times.![]()
When I try to get the update on my Thunderbolt I get an error message. I keep trying, but it first looks for an update then an error message pops up. Did you guys have similar problems? Or are the updates rolling out at different times in the U.S.? I am in Southern California
not sure if this applies to your situation, but maybe it's worth a shot (found on Droid Life):
*Tip – If you are struggling to get the update to pop up on your device, try this:
##778## thing and change the RevA setting to “enable” instead of “eHRPD” – then use LTEOnOff to switch to CDMA auto (PRL)
I use it in the Ft Lauderdale area and it was always going between 4G/3G/1x no matter if it's in the house, outside, or in the car, even though the Verizon map says it's all 4G coverage.
Now that I've had the update installed for a day, I haven't seen it cycle between those modes, with the default "CDMA LTE EVDO Auto" selected in the service menu. I'll still have to use it around town and see if it stays locked to 4G or cycles through the modes.
Tried everything. Still cannot get the update in Southern California. I need to hear from someone on the West Coast who got the update.
I installed the update but I have no idea if the phone is "better" now.....
I am using one a customer returned to try it out and I can't get it to update either. Not that big of a deal, as I am going to return it anyway once I figure out whether I want to stay with the Thunderbolt or try a Charge.
Any reason NOT to let Update Service update my TM506 software?
