This is rebadged myTouch 4G. It is also very similar to the Desire S. Instead of the T-mobile themed Sense on the myTouch, it will run stock Sense. You can view the specs on the t-mo website: http://mytouch.t-mobile.com/mytouch-...cs-and-manuals

Personally I feel this is as good as Nexus S (both run 2.3 gingerbread), if not better. If you like stock, then go with Nexus S. Otherwise this is a very solid phone from HTC.

One thing about the Google phone... we are at 2.3.4 already, with more to come for sure. Nexus, remember the name for the most up to date op system.

Since both the Panache and the Nexus S are at the same price point, aside from updates direct from google, how do the two handsets really compare?

How does the CPU/GPU in the Panache compare to the Nexus S? Also, I see the Panache has a slightly smaller screen than the Nexus S as well, but aside from size how to the displays compare?

Personally I think I'd prefer to have the stock Google experience rather than Sense, and I'd rather be first in line for updates, but there has to be some compelling reasons to choose the Panache over the Nexus if they're the same price, right?

Having bought a Spice where I'll probably be forever with no up-dates I think I would go with the Nexus which seems to be more important,it also allows you to upgrade to better apps whenever possible and let's you enjoy the phone more in some ways...however if that isn't on the top of your list the Pan with all it's got may not need all those up-dates as long as everything works great and it's what you enjoy.I don't think they'll leave it totally high and dry on updates and a lot of reviews claim it's better than the Nexus.Hell...I'd take either one or both now that I think about it...YEAH BOTH!!!

The Panache also has a strong custom ROM community already due to compatibility with the MyTouch 4G ROMs. So if you want a stock Google experience you can load AOSP ROMs.

Other differences - the Panache has real buttons rather than capacitive, and a trackpad. It has an SD Card slot (Nexus S does not). It has a Super LCD screen (NS has Super AMOLED) - which one you prefer is a matter of taste.

Is the Panache actually able to use custom ROMs though? I really hope it doesn't have the same locked bootloader junk that all of Motorola's Milestone/Droid X phones have compared to the original Droid.

    This explains the hardware mostly.
Nexus S has a better screen, but it's all glossy plastic (Prone to scratches)

Btw is it pronounced like Versace?

I've been pronouncing it as "Panash." Also, that video makes the MT4G look like it has a really, really bad screen (( I hope the redesigned Panache has a better screen.

Some Mytouch 4g units had worse screens than others. Hopefully this isn't a problem for new ones.

    panache, [puh-nash]

    –noun
    1. a grand or flamboyant manner; verve; style; flair: The actor who would play Cyrano must have panache.
    2. an ornamental plume of feathers, tassels, or the like, especially one worn on a helmet or cap.
    3. Architecture . the surface of a pendentive

I've been saying 'pan ash' but apparently, it's 'pa-nash' (emphasis on the an and ash)
