Eh, old news. We'll probably get it in a few months, knowing US Cell.
Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with CyanogenMod 7 Gingerbread on my Desire :P

I agree with Ennon. Plus, those are for GSM variants of our phone. It took months longer for the CDMA desire to get the update.
that would be kool if we could get it tomorrow
im not comfortable rooting a new phone so hopefully this will happen
Not to burst any bubbles, but I seriously doubt we will see an official USCC Gingerbread for the Desire.
Yeah, just hack-attack your phone with a custom ROM--you'll be happier guaranteed, rooting paranoia aside.
Now that USCC has been selling the CDMA Desire for about 9 months, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it is soon to be discontinued and therefore any official Gingerbread 2.3 update won't ever happen.
Add me to the list of CM7 adopters too. I flashed mine last night, and other than missing a couple things that I'd gotten accustomed to under the Sense UI that I've had to find substitutes or workarounds for... it seems to be running quite well. No more bloatware, and I have oodles of system internal storage free.
