Uh oh, looks like another TF/Net10 lock down....

Bad gateway....Well, TF/Net10, of course won't support some one else's app (yahoo app). Probably need to see if there is anyone still at Yahoo who knows about the app and ask them what ports do they expect when sending attachments to come in on. TF/Net10phones have heavy port restrictions from what I have observed. IMAP and SMTP are out too for the same reason. They only have a few ports open. Then the firmware has parameters for which file types can go over what port. Even Anonymous couldn't hack your phone

Side comment to BobbyLee- re: post 87, I thought a few weeks ago you said the EX124 has an e-mail app built in but it no longer works. Correct?

    K-L-M,
No, sorry for the confusion. The EX124G has a built-in email app that was pretty good but I really wanted to run the GMail app and that app wouldn't work right on the EX124G. Then Google quit supporting the Blackberry and the JAVA version of the GMail app so I gave up on it, the GMail app is what went away. The GMail app presented my emails like a really nice email program (nice and pretty) but the built-in email app did its job but looked really plain like a text note, white text black background, blah. Although, now I wish I could copy the built-in app from the EX124G and put it on my LG800G because it has no email program and the GMail app doesn't work that good on that one either.

Edit: I checked Twitter and they had instructions to MMS to Twitter. See if this might allow you to do what you want: http://support.twitter.com/groups/34...icture-via-mms

    @BobbyLee:

Thank you - setup my phone with Twitter and that worked fine and does what I wanted to do. Still would like to know why I can't add an attachment/photo in Yahoo without getting that dang error. But, this will work fine. Cost 1.5 minutes to do this but probably cheaper by the time I loaded up email and did all that form filling anyway. Thank you again for the link and info, I appreciate the help you and @annepani offered.

    Have a nice day!

    Talking Kinks worked out?

Does t/f finally have the kinks worked out of the lg800g? I'm thinking of getting one. Should I look for the one with the t-mobile Sim card or the at&t Sim? I live in TN if that makes any difference to which would work where.
Thanks for any help you can provide me with it will be appreciated.

I should probably add that I use my phone mainly for texting and the web browser for Facebook.

    OK so i have

been with tracfone about 8 yrs never had a problem until now. I decided to upgrade our phones to the LG 500 g, mind you the old tracfones i had I was able to get 1-2 bars in my house and make and receive calls and text, with these new phones I have 3 -4 bars and it says no service, if i go to make a call it says emergency calls only! So Friday, the day we called to change our old phone numbers to the new phones is when it started, Still today which is Sunday nothing figured out! I found this forum last night and seen that some people on here are having the same problems with the LG 800. I called the manager back this morning and told her about the sim card, by looking on here found out the new phone sim is t- mobile, our old phone sim was att. Well she goes to tell me the old phone we had was using a diiferent tower then what the new phone is on, so she said she would send new sim cards, it would take her an hour or so to get everything into the computer she woulld call me back, well 4 hrs later I call back, they tell me no sim card would make a difference, how can I have service on Friday with my old phones, then not be able to do anything with my new phones, something seems fishy. Any advice would be appreciated, from reading on here it seems I justneed a new sim with att, like my old phone had!
sim cards would be sent it wouldn't make a difference,

The problem was probably diagnosed correctly. But you need the help of the customer service people who can actually do something about it. The regular CS people will just give you a song and dance and act like they are helping you because they have to be polite. But their computers do not have the authority to do what you need. Tracfone hates sending AT&T sims if there is the tiniest bit of T-Mobile reception. What you have to do is call 305-715-6500 during regular business hours. Those people will help you.

The amount of bars on the phone is not standardized, so 1 or 2 on one phone might equal 3 or 4 on another.

If you wouldn't mind giving us some idea of your general zip code, we could help figure out your carrier situation.

He gave you the Tracfone Miami local number so you will not get outsourced CS.. WARNING: While on the phone with them they may suprise you by calling your cell phone, if you answer or they even hear it ringing you are sunk, because you must have adequate service or it would not have rung.

Thanks, and I don't have to worry about them calling me it will just go the recording that the subscriber is not a available or traveled outside the coverage area!

If you were to buy a phone directly from Tracfone, and you put your zip code into their website, it comes up that you are neither AT&T nor T-Mobile. It comes up as market=CO which means Verizon. So I don't see how they could insist on T-Mobile if they have already decided that Verizon is the only way to go. They avoid Verizon if possible (more expensive). So you are technically supposed to use a Tracfone handset that uses Verizon, not the kind that uses the other two. Let us know if you are not familiar with the difference.

OK I did buy the phones directly from tracfone, the sim # are both 890126, I think you just confused me with bringing Verizon into the picture now! How do I kow if a handset uses Verizon or not?

You don't have Verizon, the LG500G is a GSM phone (AT&T or T-Mobile). To be on Verizon you would need a CDMA phone like the LG501C, LG220C, LG231C, etc and they don't have SIM cards in their CDMA phones. You have two LG500G GSM phones on T-Mobile based on the 890126 SIM card number.

You don't have to use what Tracfone recommends. You can use whatever works. If you want AT&T, that's OK if the reception is adequate. The GSM technology seems to have better voice quality. GSM and CDMA use different principles for how they handle traffic. A phone is programmed one way or the other. Like gas and diesel for engines. Also, GSM and CDMA are on different radio frequencies, which travel through obstructions differently. Besides that, Verizon tries to cover rural areas that the other two don't bother with. It's possible that the CDMA signal is better for distance anyway.
