Charp can only focus on one type of phone at a time, or so it seems. First it was direct porting (9010, 9020, etc), then it was crappy MTK based phones, then it was crappy MTK based phones with special features (mimory and solar), and now it's Android.

Who knows what they'll do next?

To prove you wrong on the single-focus part, I expect the next Charp to be dual booting Android / standard MTK OS (whatever it is) with dual outer display switching between solar/Mimory with dual camera - one CCD / one CMOS for immediate quality comparison (not for 3D)... all that coupled with any 600MHz processor left over from previous models and 256 MB RAM. This can be a flip phone - the flip open part will be dust proof and the other part will be water-resistant. LOL

    ROFL.

Anyone figured out what the difference between the 007SH and the 007SH J is? Or is that another joke Sharp are playing on users (cf. the f letter in Aquos Phone f SH-13C)?

    The 007SH is just the bog-standard 007SH.

The J model comes exclusively in pink, has a little heart on the front fascia, and comes preloaded with some girly apps (cooking app [wow sexist much? ], 'make-your-nails-pretty' app, AmebaGG photo sharing app, a Twitter client designed for girls [??] etc).

    Basically a special/limited edition 007SH for girls.

^ based on what the SoftBank website says via my limited Japanese skills. Please add on if I've missed anything

I am really curious what this cooking app does... is it for "training" how to cook or does it give you recipes only?
I remember reading that in the late 1990s Sharp made the world's first microwave oven that is connected to the internet and can update its software with new recipes.

    THIS.

Finally the smartphone of my dreams has been born I was starting to think that the future for me was a generic grim touchbar (HTC Noname #5235235243 or something like that), but clamshells still have future... and more with the keitai style.

Oh wait, it's not a unlockable DoCoMo? Well, guess that i can keep waiting... but i want this one NOW!

But from the currently available specs, this one seems to not have 850MHz 3G, right?

    - Movistar K1m with Telus Java+EvDO... evil!
    - JUST IN: Movistar E815 with Bell Java... minus $$$$$ data :P

Wow this phone sounds like it would be perfect if it was docomo and if it had 2 cameras to take 3d photos and video. I believe this phone supports viewing of 3d photos (and im guessing the 003/005sh style of take one photo and then move the phone to make it 3d), right?

You can order one from CanadaJPhones and it comes with a hypersim, so I imagine hypersim unlocking works like usual.

I don't think this phone can be rooted. Lol obviously I'm no expert so I could be wrong. I would like to know if the APN settings can be changed so I could use tmobile 2G service at least.
