Easiest way to reproduce it is as follows:
1) Call a number where you can listen to a recording. For example, Environment Canada's Weather Information Service: 613-998-3439 for Ottawa
2) Turn on speakerphone and max out your volume in order to make it easier to observe the effect
3) Blow gently into the microphone of your handset, and observe as the recording gets FULLY muted out
You might ask: Why the hell would I do this in real life?
Answer: I don't. But it is an accurate simulation of what happens to me when I am walking outside in windy weather. Pretty ironic, how wind blowing into the microphone hole causes issues on Wind's network... lol
1) if u need to do all these things then it makes no difference if it happens! as it seems u need to do something to reproduce it.
2) my friend is on an iphone 4G on Rogers and if he leaves the car forget talking to him with all the wind noise! My father is on fido with sgh-f266 and same occures. i have yet to hear it when talking to my wife on her BB Curve 3G.
