    800G with AT&T sim (trac)

Any idea how to get one? I only got it to come up once, and that was a TMO zip. I definitely dont want TMO in my area. Can you get one with an AT&T zip directly? I know I can get one on Ebay, but I dont want to commit to the phone if I dont like it or reception isnt the best.

There seems to be some sort of texting glitch in some AT&T SIMed Tracs. They are not showing up the C4 zip codes at this time only T-Mo C5 zips.
Ebay may be your only choice at present.

Well if there is a texting glitch then maybe I will stay away period. TMO just does not work well around here (I only use TMO because I have a UMA enabled phone). AT&T is decent. I used to have Trac and wanted to give the new 800g a shot. I dont want to run into issues and then have to deal with entering crazy codes and everything else trying to get things sorted. Miami CS or not.

Heck, this morning the Tracfone website doesn't even list the LG800g for sale in any of the T-Mobile markets, let alone AT&T markets. Though, Net10 still does.

It makes me wonder. I don't know how much of this shortage of stock is due to Tracfone acknowledging any sort of glitch versus simply being low on stock. After all, Best Buy this week just started selling the Net10 version of the LG800g and, if the website is correct, I suspect those may have AT&T sims based on the product code. Maybe they were just putting all production into fulfilling Best Buy's order?

That said... I don't doubt that there are some faulty LG800g's floating out there. In fact, I've had two of them myself---both AT&T---the first being my original, the second being a replacement that Tracfone graciously sent me.

But my problem isn't with receiving texts like the others have posted. Rather, it's the opposite. My phones frequently tried and failed to SEND texts or make phone calls, despite having a strong signal. Don't know what the problem is because I've not had any problems with my previous AT&T tracfones in this location. Oh, well... I can always eventually make a call or eventually send a text. It just might take me a couple of tries before it goes through. So I'm keeping the replacement phone. Though, it is a bit of a bummer. The funny thing is... The LG800g is simultaneously both my best ever Tracfone and my worst Tracfone that I've ever owned.

I've had only one problem with my AT&T SIMed LG800. Sometime the touch screen is not responsive especially when I try to open items I have put on the phone such as "notes" and "contact info". As far as everything else its worked fine, its received and sent scores of texts and made several calls with clear and bright VQ.

Yep, there are definitely some good LG800g's even on AT&T despite those of us who have mentioned some potential issues.

I'm hoping that maybe my problem is somehow tied to my local cell tower. Granted, the local cell tower doesn't have any issues with the AT&T-simmed Tracfone that I maintain for my mom. But I'm still hoping that maybe the problem won't be there when I travel. fwiw, I haven't travelled with the new phone much but when I did the other day I didn't have a single problem in limited use. So here's to hoping! And if it by chance it is the local cell tower causing problems, well, I'll be moving later this summer ,anyway, in which cause---problem solved! Sort of!

The lg800g is available on Ebay from the vendor "Shopcelldeals". At the bottom of his listings you can ask a question. I ask if they had AT&T sims or T-Mobile, explained the P4/P5 code on the bottom of the package and his reply was "Ours use the AT&T towers". He has the lg800g phone alone for $39.89, the phone and a 200 min card for $56.99, and the phone and the 400 min/ 1 year card for $94.99. This vendor has sold more than 350 phones and has a feedback rating of 99.7% positive. I have no connection with this vendor, just thought the prices were good. Don't take my word about the AT&T sims, ask before you buy.

Already asked that guy about his phones, that is how I knew I could get them from eBay. Thanks though.

I am going to hold off until they get this texting issue sorted.
