Yeah, I noticed the Arco too when I was visiting SE's Japan site. Not sure why they would have both the Arc and Arco though, seems as though most Japanese would opt for the Arco because of the 1Seg, Osaifu, etc.

Just noticed these two foreign phones, modded for the Japanese market:
GALAXY S Ⅱ SC-02C
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiUZvK9ezd0
They've added 1seg. Looks slightly thicker than the global version, presumably due to the addition of the TV tuner.
Xperia acro SO-02C
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbyud4Po97M
They've added Osaifu-Keitai, 1seg and FOMA High-Speed. Slightly thicker than the arc (SO-01C).
Cheers

I'd be pretty pissed if I just bought a SO-01C one month before an upgraded model came along. I'm surprised they didn't just release both in one go or just release the arco (eugh what kind of a name is that?).
I think most Japanese would be willing to sacrifice 3mm for all those goodies. I know I would hah.
Does anyone know whether FOMA High-Speed refers to their new higher-speed network or just the good ol' 7.2 network?
I think they named it so it was called Arc something - after all it's pretty much the same device.
On the docomo website, it says 5.7/14Mpbs up/down FOMA high speed.
Arco just sounds weird. Should have come up with a new name. Oh well. It shall be known from now on as the "SO-02C"
Speaking of foreign phones... I've just received my 'SC-02C'. Haha.
