The other possibility is that everyone was placing their orders to receive AT&T SIM`s and the T-Mobile ones were not moving fast enough.
This seemingly selling out of a market has occurred before with other model phones, even refurb bundles.

I saw the Problems with the Tracfone LG 800g thread.
It appears the following issues are occurred with some users of Tracfone LG 800g:
Message alert feedback loop
World Clock: incorrect time
Text feedback loop (spamming)
Texts un-receivable.
Did I miss anything?
What problems have Net10 users seen? I saw Net10 versions at my local Walmart and Best Buy. At Tracfone.com the phone isn't offered in my area. At Net10.com the LG 800g was available for my area.
What gives? Is the Net10 version a less problematic phone. Was Tracfone version roll out stopped for software correction? Was the Tracfone version just a novelty--a limited edition?

Real Life Dictionary: Cell Phone. A fancy term for mobile answering machine.

I feel Net10 change in airtime strategy has adversely affected their sales. I no longer have a use for Net10, too expensive for my useage patterns.
After reading your statement, I skipped around in the Net10 site a little bit, and downloaded recent TOS (March 2011.) I'll look at it depth this weekend. When I glanced over it, it seemed that the wording has changed a bit. The usage rates may have changed for their phones. They have cleaned up their site, provided clearer information for their various plans which is good. I'll look at TOS for Tracfone line too. Thanks for the warning.
The Tracfone version may come to Sears. When I put Lg 800 in as a search term, the search engine recommended the phrase "Tracfone LG 800g". But when I clicked on the option a list of other Tracfones and accessories where present. Sears may have the LG 800g on their on their servers in preparation to sell the Tracfone version.
When the extremely popular Straight Talk E-71 became available at Walmart it all of a sudden became unavailable from the ST site. Speculation was Walmart had first shot as the available stock, which left none for the ST site.
My new NET10 LG 800G has an error in the world clock. Chicago is set as my home city, but I cannot find a way to change it. It only offered a means to delete all but the home city and change the second city.
I will attempt to download Google MAPS. After that I will link a NIMA 123 complaint Bluetooth GPS receiver. There is a JAVA download available for this phone on PocketGear, which indicates the phone is compliant. A Pharos GPS with Bluetooth Dock may offer a means to get GPS coordinates on maps without the browser active.
NET10 does not offer as good as pre-paid options that they once did with some six month card deals. Their Tracfone owner may be slightly better with double or triple minutes for life. My problems with NET10 have tended to be more service problems than cost value.
Can you use Yahoo Messenger with this phone?
I have a Tracfone LG800g. I am having similar problems with the world clock. Tracfone knows where I live due to my account info but for some reason the phone wants to use Los Angeles as my home city which it is not. Not only that, it tells me Seattle is 1 hour behind L.A. Say what!? The really curious thing is that the regular clock display is correct. I've gotten to the point of just ignoring the world clock as long as the regular time display is correct.
Just FYI, yes the world clock has a glitch. It pulls the time for your home city off the network so that should always be right. It picks Los Angeles as your home because its database of cities for each timezone is limited to a few major cities. As for the second city time being off it's a glitch, it doesn't compensate for Daylight Savings Time. It works fine as long as we aren't on DST, it will start working properly again in November when we get off DST. Hope that helps.
But Bobby, as I indicated in my post, Seattle IS on their list of cities. It just seems like I can't get the blasted phone to let me select it as my home city. I actually live closer to Tacoma but that's neither here nor there as long as it keeps using L.A. which is something like 1,200 miles away from where I live compared to less than 30 to Seattle. A minor glitch maybe but very annoying as I have been unable to fix this problem. So, as far as I'm concerned, the World Clock is an interesting but useless feature.
mel023,
I understand your complaint, I don't even get a city for my Current City, it lists my state as my Current City without the ability to edit it to one of the cities on their list. I'd love to use it to keep track of the time in another time zone but it ticks me off it's only good when we're not in DST so I quit using it too. I agree, it is useless on this phone the way they messed it up. I was just pointing out the DST glitch, people noticed it when the phone first came out and thought it was a problem with the old software version because soon after they re-released the phone with the new software version (to correct the texting glitch) it was about the time we went off DST so folks thought that the World Clock glitch had been fixed also. Low and behold, as soon as we went back on DST the complaints about the World Clock's second city time being off started up again. Just bad timing. Hopefully the World Clock on the LG505C works better because that's the next phone I plan to try, mainly for the Verizon coverage.
