New PRLs for Alltel (ATNI) Accounts *major changes, back to Sprint!*
These are for Alltel (ATNI) Customers. Not those who are getting a Verizon bill.
In many out of network areas these new PRLs change the preferred to Sprint, it was Verizon up to this PRL.

I wonder why they wanted to change it back to Sprint?
Maybe because no other carrier will prefer Sprint anymore and Sprint is too desperate. :P
I really think they should've stayed with the Verizon network as most preferred.
I literally think it is a step backward (pun intended...lol).
No worries tho, my phone's NAM1 settings still have PRL 21007
and it's still forced on the Verizon network nonstop anyway.
My phone's NAM2 settings are for Alltel and that has the new PRL 21008,
but I'll almost never use that unless I'm too bored, lol.
CDMA....Coming soon to a tower near you!
Alltel user since September 5, 2006 - I'm proud to still be with them !!!

This explains the issues I've been having, coincidentally since the 1st, in Seneca/Crawford county. Can't carry a call where I could before after coming off an Alltel tower....
What's the order now for the Alltel Divested PRLs?
1. Alltel towers migrated to ATNI
2. Sprint
3. Verizon
Wondering if these PRLs may be handy to those of us on non-divested Alltel/Verizon who want to force roaming to a Sprint Tower (handy in parts of the country). I'll have to look at the PRL in detail later and check out the ERI parameters.

Yes for the most part. They are still preferring all Alltel SIDs, SIDs that both ATT and Verizon are operating.

It would do that but these new ones also remove sids, like USC.
I have been collection and analyzing the non-divested ones too, they are going the opposite direction as ATNI. Removing Sprint etc
Funny, it looks like we're both duplicating each others efforts. I'm glad I found this thread as well. From what I can tell (pouring through the two Alltel PRLs -- divested/non-divested), the non-divested gives a lot more choices... but places Sprint fairly far down the priority list (and dropping it all together in some places). The divested PRL is much smaller but gives Sprint a fairly high priority (directly after Alltel's towers).
If one is roaming and wants to force a Sprint tower over a Verizon tower this looks like it'd do it.
P.S. On a side note, did the Answerman (http://www.the-answerman.com/sidlist/prl/index.asp) fall off a cliff or something? I've been sending him e-mails with updated PRLs and never puts them up or (or even replies to me). Corolada (http://www.corolada.com/prl/) is equally MIA as the e-mail address he lists to contribute is no longer valid. Did they both lose interest (around the same time)?
Not sure where they went, they kinda vanished with Alltel. In a way CDMA is a has-been anyway.
I dont plan on going anywhere and if something happens I will move my prl collection to a webpage. The interpretations were nice, I dont have the time or patience to put all that together.
So is having battery life longer than 1 day without charging! ;-)
Allot of that was due to the way the prls are written so the phone scans for other sids every few minutes. I make my own single sid preferred only prl for the area Im in and it adds 2 days to the battery life.

Another new Alltel PRL was just released. 21010 / 31010.
I'm having a bit of trouble trying to place calls on my local Verizon tower at the present time,
even with it forced I'm getting 'call failed' and most of my calls aren't going thru (some of them are),
Incoming calls also affected, this is probably/hopefully a temporary network issue in my local area.
It's not a problem on Sprint or Alltel's towers and on other Verizon towers nearby...
Nonetheless, it was reported to customer service and a trouble ticket is pending.
Somehow my PRL was updated though, I never dialed *228 and haven't in a long time.
21011 - Feature Phones postpaid
31011 Smartphones postpaid
51001 - Data cards (new activations)
50002 or 31010 - Data Cards (Existing Customers)
21009 - Feature phones prepaid
There had been some issues with the phones not hitting Sprint and Verizon towers properly. Since these PRL updates I haven't seeen many issues with customers.

I have them and need to get them posted up. The new prls move divested sids to the bottom. Example: in Utah and Nevada the prior prl would prefer Alltel, Sprint then Verizon. The new 11 series prefers Sprint, Verizon then Alltel last. Utah and Nevada are just examples, this has been done anywhere Verizon/ATT are operating Alltel CDMA they acquired.
