About to buy a E4GT with a clean ESN... is it relatively easy to revert back to the original ESN after I've swapped it to the TP2's ESN?
I will probably put up the E4GT for sale in the future and I wouldn't want the good ESN to go to waste.

Great thread, I'm really eager to try this out.
I'm currently still on a TP2 on an F&F family legacy plan. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get a hold of a E4G touch for cheap? I've been up for an upgrade for years with Sprint but my understanding is that if I try to upgrade to any new phone, they would have to change my plan which is a no-no.
Is my only option buying used on ebay/craigslist or paying full retail? I heard the S3 came out today, I wonder if that will be just as easy to swap to. In any case, it will help push the E4GT down in price so I can get one.
Are there any other phones that this has been confirmed to work for? Should I look for a phone with a bad ESN and have it set up with my TP2 ESN?

I found the profile 1 AA password on the sanyo pro 700. ##data#,1 username,2 edit,MSL #,1Custom NAI,2 password, 6 alpha numeric charictors, I used these on profile 1 and PPP config AN. Data Worky, Thanks djinks and all.
So I have all my donor phone info. The only issue is that I got a E4GT with a clean ESN and I've having trouble with pulling the profile HA / AAA keys. It gives me an error when I run any of these:
requestnvitemread ds_mip_ss_user_prof
requestnvitemread ds_mip_ss_user_prof 1
requestnvitemread hdr_an_auth_passwd_long
Here is the error:
requestnvitemread - Error response received from target
Also, when I dumped all the nvitems from CDMA workshop, I noticed 1192 says access denied.
Any ideas on how to backup my clean ESN info?
Been 3 weeks and am running great...epic touch on sero!! Woohoo!
You do not use them as you replace them with the original SERO phone's info.
If you are worried about resetting them when you want to revert the E4GTto original setup, they should be reset when you re-provision the phone (after changing the MEID and ESN and MSL back to original and performing a factory reset). At least I have seen it explained that way several times and it sounds logical. I never found a way to actually read those items on a Samsung Epic, E4GT or Nexus S 4G. Perhaps the retail version of CDMA Workshop might do so, but I did not want to spend money to see.

Is anyone else getting horrible 3g speeds on the E4GT after porting from a TP2? My max has been 16kB/s download and 19kB/s upload, all with pings over 700ms.
running the FF11 modem, is this modem known for slow speeds?
does flashing a new modem reset any of the donor phone settings? I can try a different one but wanted to make sure I didn't need to re-do any of the steps outlined in this thread.
The 3g icon even shows up but I'm not sure if the slow speed is really 3g or 1x. I'm able to browse, albeit very slow.

[edit]Disregard, wrong thread. The Boost 3G thread below will not help much on SERO.[/edit]
There is a thread specifically about getting 3G working on Boost (Epic 4G Touch). I'm sure there are some answers in there for slow speeds. Search for "Epic 4g to Boost Mobile (how to get the 3g working)".
First thing is was your original Boost phone a 3G model? if not, any data settings you have from it will not help, as your Boost phone was never provisioned for 3G.

These threads may help:
I cannot post links yet so Google for:
"How to Increase Sprint Epic 4G Touch 3G & 4G Data Speeds"
"Wimax (4G) tweaks/3G Tweaks"
Also, was your old phone 3G? Was it EVDO rev.a?
If not, you may be stuck at whatever speed rating the previous phone was programmed to access.
I came from Sprint TP2 provisioned for EVDO and am getting similar speeds and connetivity from my Epic
im on a legacy plan and i have a tp2 can i used this method on a HTC ARRIVE since its a windows phone also i have a HTC SNAP can i used that info too and used it on the phones u guys mention......
I think the only way to see if the Arrive will work is to try it. I have not seen anyone mention they have tried it. The TP2 should be easy to read from, so try to put its info on the Arrive. The Snap is a legacy phone. Do you have that on SERO plan now? I have not seen anyone mention if they can read the HTC Snap, so try to read it and report back if you can.
