    Full-time to Part-time

I really want to work for Verizon, but they are only posting full-time positions in my area. I am completely free to work full-time until the end of August. At that time I would have to go part-time due to school. If I managed to get the job, do you think they would allow me to go part time? OR would they tell me to **** off for wasting their time?

Are you asking about working for corporate Verizon, or an agent? Corporate does have some part-time ARSO positions, but only in some regions/stores, and I haven't seen any part-time sales staff in any stores. I think you would have to stay full-time or decide not to take the job at all. This may vary by region - but in the stores I've worked at and helped at, I've not seen a single part-time salesperson.

This is for a corporate store. It's a shame they don't offer any part-time positions, every other wireless carrier does.

Verizon officially has part time positions but the ARSO position has really been removed, only a few A stores still have them and even those are going away eventually. They have moved to a mainly full time company. I doubt any recruiter would be willing to even go beyond an initial interview. The training process alone is 5 weeks so you would be working in the store less than a month, it really doesn't make sense from Verizon's standpoint because the training costs are pretty big.

Good luck!!!!!! What everyone has said so far is correct. Just to give you an idea only 3 percent of RSRs in my region are part time. For the ones who are part time, it is well known that once you go full time there is no going back. Many F/t would love to be part time and it is not possible.
